Segebrecht Taken Out by O'Dwyer

Level 17 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Claas Segebrecht
Claas Segebrecht

Claas Segebrecht shoved from the button for 230,000 and Steve O'Dwyer made the call from the big blind with the bigger stack.

Claas Segebrecht: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Steve O'Dwyer: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for both of them to flop a pair but O'Dwyer had hit top pair to eliminate Segebrecht before the money.

Reixach Wins Three-Way Pot

Level 17 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer raised to 40,000 after one of his cards, the {3-Clubs}, had initially been exposed and was replaced. He was called by Hiroshi Nishiyama on the button and Sergi Reixach in the small blind. On a flop of {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, Reixach checked and O'Dwyer bet 80,000 in order to receive two calls thereafter.

All three then checked the {7-Hearts} turn and {8-Hearts} river. Reixach was the first to show, revealing his {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and that was good enough to win the pot.

Grossmann Chips Up

Level 17 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Boris Kolev had raised from an early position and was called by Belarmino De Souza in the cutoff. The {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop brought a bet worth 45,000 by Kolev and a call by De Souza, which led them to the {4-Hearts} turn. Kolev bet another 120,000 and De Souza folded.

Up next, the Brazilian opened to 40,000 and earned calls from Lukasz Szymon Grossmann and Imad Derwiche in the blinds. They checked the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} flop to De Souza, who bet 45,000. Grossmann used a time bank extension and called while Derwiche folded.

On the {5-Hearts} turn, Grossmann check-called for another 185,000 and then jammed the {7-Hearts} river to force another fold from De Souza.

Greenwood Doubles Through Thorel

Level 17 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Jean-Noel Thorel raised it up to 40,000 and then called the shove by Sam Greenwood from one seat over for 240,000.

Sam Greenwood: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The overcards struck right away on the {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop while Thorel then spiked a gutshot on the {10-Diamonds} turn. However, Greenwood secured the double after the blank {3-Clubs} river.

"You deserved that one, it's been a tough hour," Timothy Adams said and Greenwood replied back with a grin "okay, no more bluffing."

Fast Left Short After Tussle With Selouan

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Following the cutoff raise by Rodrigo Selouan to 35,000 and the call by Dietrich Fast in the big blind, the latter checked the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop. Selouan continued for 20,000 and Fast used half of his 30-second shot clock before he check-raised to 55,000.

Only a few moments later, Selouan pushed all-in with the covering stack and Fast instantly folded.

Greenwood on a Slippery Slope

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Immediately after paying a double-up to Jean-Noel Thorel, Sam Greenwood was faced by a shove of Imad Derwiche in the early position for 220,000. Greenwood saw everyone before him fold for him to eventually defend his big blind.

Imad Derwiche: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Sam Greenwood: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for Derwiche to hold with his pocket fives to stay alive while the former chip leader is falling down the ranks.
