Day 1d of the €1,100 PokerStars Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event, taking place at Casino Barcelona, has now reached its conclusion with 69 players making it through the flight to Day 2 and into the money.

After nearly 19 levels of play, Pavlos Xanthopoulos emerged as the chip leader with 799,000. Xanthopoulos was the player who burst the bubble when he picked off Younes Hammouchi's river-bluff at the end of the day.

In second place was Juhani Rantala with 541,000 chips and in third was Sam Tropez with 537,000.

Other notable players to finish the flight with decent counts included the UK’s Carl Shaw, Antoine Saout of France, and Team PokerStars Pro Arlie Shaban.

A total of 459 entries were made to Day 1d, which dwarfed entry numbers of the previous night’s turbo flight. Of those, 15 percent made it through.

A total of 1,928 players have now entered across four starting flights; there are still four more to go before Day 2 begins on August 25. Players who haven’t yet made it to Day 2 still have multiple chances left, with two entries available per flight.

Last year’s Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event reached a record-breaking total of 6,313 entries. Flights in this year’s event are expected to get even busier as the days go on, so there’s every chance those numbers will be breached and new records set.

Stay tuned to PokerNews as reporters continue to bring you updates on the action straight from the tournament floor and follow the event all the way down to a winner.
