Thorel Doesn't Realize it's on Him
Level 8
: Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Alejandro Lococo opened 12,000 under the gun, and the action folded around to Jean-Noel Thorel who defended the big blind.
The dealer fanned a flop of K?8?6?, and Thorel check-called a bet of 22,000.
When the A? hit the turn, Thorel check-called once again, this time for 42,000.
The 5? hit the river, and Thorel checked for a final time. Lococo paused for a moment before putting maximum pressure with a bet of 400,000. Thorel had 196,000 remaining and went deep into the tank. Or so it seemed. After four minutes, and the dealer taking time chips from him, he asked if it was on him.
The dealer confirmed it was, and he instantly mucked his hand. However, the table agreed to give all of his time chips back.
