Caceres' Creativity Costs Him Against Joyce
Marcelo Caceres and Philip Joyce were heads-up on a board of 10?Q?K?9?3? and around 20,000 in the middle when Caceres, in the small blind, moved all in for 16,100.
Joyce went into the tank for several minutes, constantly rechecking and recapping his cards. "Will you show if I fold," he asked Caceres.
"I don't think I can fold," Joyce muttered to himself before another player at the table called the clock. Joyce stood up from his seat and kneeled on his chair, leaning over the table, before he finally committed the chips.
Caceres showed Q?2? for a pair of queens and Joyce turned over Q?Q? for a set to send him to the rail. According to Ian Bradley at the table, Caceres had five-bet preflop then bet on the flop before both players checked the turn.
