Orpaz Takes From Grafton; Beresford Nearly Moves In
Tom Orpaz raised to 2,500 from under the gun and was called by Jean-Noel Thorel before Sam Grafton three-bet to 10,000 on the button. Orpaz called, while Thorel got out of the way.
The flop came 5?8?K? and Grafton continued for 8,000. Orpaz called and both players checked the 2? turn.
Orpaz led out for 30,000 on the 8? river and Grafton called. Orpaz then showed 8?7? for trip eights. "Yolo," he said as he took the pot.
The next hand, Thorel opened under the gun to 2,500 and Conor Beresford three-bet to 11,000 in the small blind. Thorel called and they went heads-up to the Q?5?A? flop.
Beresford bet 12,000 and Thorel called. The turn came the J? and Beresford bet 29,000 this time.
Thorel again called to the 4? river, where Beresford tossed out 121,500, leaving himself just one 1,000 chip behind. Thorel open-mucked K?K?.
"Show the bluff," Orpaz told Beresford.
"Pick one," Beresford replied, giving his cards to Orpaz who exposed the A?.
"Back to starting stack," Orpaz added.
