Set For Greenwood

Level 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

After Jules Dickerson and Zaid Noori arrived at the table, Mikita Badziakouski opened to 2,500 from early position, and was called by Sam Greenwood in the big blind.

On the flop 5?4?Q?, Greenwood check-raised to 9,000 after Badziakouski bet 2,000. But he was called, so he checked on the turn 4?. Badziakouski checked back.

The 6? came on the river, and Greenwood bet 16,000. Badziakouski called, but mucked his cards after Greenwood showed 5?5? for a set.

Level 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Artur Martirosian
Artur Martirosian

Sam Greenwood opened to 2,500 from the cutoff, and Mikita Badziakouski three-bet to 8,500 on the button. But after Badziakouski made a continuation-bet of 2,500 on the flop K?J?A?, Greenwood folded.

On the next next, Greenwood raised again to 2,500, and he was called by Artur Martirosian in the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of 10?2?7?, and Greenwood bet 1,500. But Martirosian check-raised to 7,000. Greenwood eventually called to find the 8?, where it was his turn to bet 7,000 after his opponent checked.

Martirosian made the call, then took the lead again, betting 35,000 on the river 6?. Greenwood had to use one time bank to eventually fold.

Scheduled at 12:30 p.m., this event was moved to 2 p.m. but the structure stays the same: starting stacks of 100,000 chips, and 30-minute levels. Those unfortunate enough to bust will be allowed to reenter for an unlimited amount of times, with registration closing at the end of Level 10 (approximately 8:45 p.m.). A shot clock will be implemented from the start of the event, with all players being given a total of six time bank chips, each worth 30 seconds. The players who are seated at the first hand of every odd level number (3, 5, 7, 9, etc) will receive one extra time bank.

There will be a 15-minute break every four levels, with an additional 75-minute dinner break at the end of Level 14.

PokerNews will be reporting live for the entirety of this $25,000 buy-in event as it plays down to a winner, so be sure to stick with the updates to keep up with all the action.
