The 10,200 Mystery Bounty Event Kicks Off Tonight
The 2023 PokerStars EPT presented by Monte-Carlo Casino? is now underway and one of the first larger buy-in events is ready to kick off this evening with the 10,200 Mystery Bounty event. Many of the best players from around the world always look forward to this stop on the EPT circuit and there will be plenty of high-stakes action for them to take part in over the next two weeks.
Last year's edition of this event attracted a total of 83 entries which generated a prize pool of nearly 400,000. The winner was none other than French businessman Jean-Noel Thorel who has become a staple at all of the EPT stops. Thorel outlasted a hard-pressing Sergi Reixach to claim the title in the opening event.
Another exciting aspect of this event is the mystery bounty portion which also adds a little bit of luck as well. With 5,000 of the buy-in going toward the bounties, there will be plenty of money up for grabs upon eliminating someone on Day 2. The bounty portion of this tournament will begin at the start of Level 13 with the largest bounty prize expected to be around 75,000.
The cards will go in the air at 7:00 p.m. local time with each player beginning with a 100,000 chip stack and the blinds will start at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big blind ante. The levels will be 30 minutes throughout the tournament with only eight levels being played on the opening day. There will be a 20-minute break midway through the evening with play wrapping up just after 11:00 p.m. local time.
This is a single reentry event and late registration will remain open until the end of Level 10 on Day 2. The action will resume at 12:30 p.m. Thursday and will play down to a winner. There will be a shot clock in play for the duration of this event with 20 seconds to act preflop and 30 seconds to act on all further streets. Players will begin with four time extensions and will receive an additional one after every two hours.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the live updates throughout the event.
