Guimond Gives Benoliel the Bad News
Florian Guimond made the minraise to 100,000 from middle position and Antonio Calabro and Sam Benoliel called from the blinds. The flop was dealt K?8?Q? and all three players checked.
The turn fell 4? and Benoliel took the betting lead after a check from Calabro. He bet 100,000, but none of the other players were done with the hand yet as they both called.
The river paired the board with the 8? and Benoliel shoved some stacks forward for a bet totalling 250,000. Guimond spent some time in the tank pondering the situation but eventually made the call.
Calabro quickly folded and Benoliel triumphantly tabled his J?8? for rivered trips. His mood would soon sour, however, as Guimond played A?8? for the same trip eights, but with a better kicker.
''Encroyable'', Benoliel repeated a few times while mourning his lost chips.
