Ketzer Pulls Into the Lead

Level 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Daniel Dvoress opened to 100,000 on the button for Felipe Ketzer to defend the big blind. The {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop was checked by Ketzer, who then called a bet worth 175,000 by Dvoress.

Both checked the {8-Spades} turn and Dvoress reluctantly checked behind the {j-Clubs} river as well.

"Full house," Ketzer declared and rolled over the {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} with a smile on the face. By scooping that pot, the Brazilian pulled back into the lead but the three stacks are very close to each other.

Brewer Has All the Heart

Level 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

Daniel Dvoress open-shoved out of the small blind into the big blind of Chris Brewer, who was happy to see paint first but then sighed as the second card was no good.

One hand later, Dvoress opened to 100,000 on the button and instantly called the shove by Brewer in the small blind for 735,000.

Chris Brewer: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Daniel Dvoress: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Dvoress was ahead but the {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} board brought the winning flush for Brewer, which nearly evened out the stacks of the final three players.

Ketzer Jams Once Too Often

Level 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Felipe Ketzer used his chip lead in a very aggressive manner and moved all-in three times in a row. He got away with it twice but the third time wasn't a charm, as Daniel Dvoress called for more than 20 blinds.

Daniel Dvoress: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Felipe Ketzer: {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

"Not a good start," Ketzer joked after the {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop had given Dvoress the top pair. His double up was confirmed with the {7-Hearts} turn and {7-Clubs} river as the chip lead switched back to the Canadian.

Dvoress jammed in the small blind next and then min-raised to 100,000 on the button. Ketzer jammed once more, for 1,190,000 in the big blind. No call followed as the Brazilian sat back down.

"You put the backbag on?!" Dvoress inquired and Ketzer grinned back "yeah, ten percent more."

Ketzer Pulls Ahead With Aggression

Level 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Felipe Ketzer three-bet against Daniel Dvoress to shut down the Canadian preflop.

Shortly after, Ketzer opened on the button and Chris Brewer called out of the big blind. On a {q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Brewer check-called for 55,000 and did so again for 165,000 on the {j-Hearts} turn.

Brewer also checked the {8-Hearts} river and Ketzer reached into his stack to bet, after which Brewer snap-folded.

One hand later, Dvoress raised to 90,000 on the button and folded when Brewer three-bet to 600,000 with 220,000 behind.

Nick Petrangelo Eliminated in 4th Place (€119,000)

Level 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Nicholas Vincent Petrangelo
Nicholas Vincent Petrangelo

The two shorter stacks among the final four went to war in a preflop contest with Nick Petrangelo on the button and Felipe Ketzer out of the big blind getting their near even stacks into the middle for the following coin flip.

Nick Petrangelo: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Felipe Ketzer: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

"Flip, ace jack against sixes," Ketzer told his rail in Brazilian and several of them came closer to the final table in order to witness the showdown.

The {10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop was a "good start" for Ketzer, who picked up the nut flush draw on top of his two overcards. Another gutshot was added with the {q-Spades} turn and he then got there with the {j-Spades} river, as the rail erupted in several "vamooouuuu".

Both stacks were counted and Ketzer's 855,000 covered by two blinds, eliminating Petrangelo in fourth place for €119,000.

Ketzer Runs Out of Time(banks)

Level 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

In a limped battle of the blinds with a min-bet and call invested to the {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Hearts} turn, Felipe Ketzer checked. Daniel Dvoress bet 160,000 and Ketzer came along to the {4-Spades} river.

Another check by Ketzer triggered a bet of Dvoress for 380,000 and the Brazilian used his last two remaining time banks before he asked for the correct betting amount. Once that was confirmed, the last ten seconds ran down and Ketzer's visible temptation only appeared after his hand was already dead.

"Almost ... last second," he grinned.

Ketzer and Dvoress Double Through Brewer

Level 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

One hand after the elimination of Ren Lin, Felipe Ketzer was in the single big blind. "I have 490 behind," he replied when Chris Brewer on the dead button asked. The shove by Brewer followed and Ketzer called all-in.

Felipe Ketzer: {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Chris Brewer: {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Brewer took the lead on the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop but Ketzer turned the nuts thanks to the {k-Spades}, making the {10-Hearts} river a formality. The double-up of Ketzer was for 530,000 and that put a first dent into Brewer's stack.

One hand later, Brewer jammed the button and Daniel Dvoress called all-in for 655,000.

Daniel Dvoress: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Chris Brewer: {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Brewer could all but laugh and joked "I don't understand ... everybody else gets those shoving spots through but I always get called."

The kicker problem was never solved on a {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Diamonds} runout and Dvoress also doubled.

Brewer stopped the bleeding one hand later when a single-raised pot against Nick Petrangelo saw the latter check-fold on the flop.

Right after coming back from the break, Chris Brewer raised to 110,000 out of the small blind. Ren Lin was in the big blind with around 20 blinds and moved all-in to get snapped off by Brewer.

Chris Brewer: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} board sent Lin to the payout desk in fifth place while Brewer extended his lead significantly.
