Momentum All With Shimizu
Kayhan Mokri raised to 40,000 in the hijack and Nozomu Shimizu called in the cutoff.
Both players checked to the river on a board of J?5?10?2?3? when Mokri bet 65,000. Shimizu snap-called.
Mokri showed K?J? for top pair, but Shimizu had A?J? and won the pot with his ace-kicker.
"Holy moley, I've never been more confident I was winning a hand in my whole life," Mokri said.
Shimizu then put in 30,000 from the hijack before being forced to make it 40,000. The rest of the table folded and Shimizu showed a deuce.
Shimizu raised again the next hand to 40,000 and Mokri called in the big blind. Both players checked down the J?8?3?7?K? board.
Mokri showed A?9?, but once again Shimizu had him out-kicked with A?10?. "Didn't he have like 5,000 chips," Mokri said as Shimizu claimed another pot.
