Allen Makes a Tough Call For His Tournament Life
Level 12
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Ludvig Sterner and Michael Allen built a pot of around 50,000 as they went heads-up to a flop of 3?3?3?. Sterner then bet 10,000 from the cutoff and Allen called on the button.
The 9? fell on the turn and Sterner checked. Allen then bet 8,000, Sterner raised to 28,000, and Allen called.
The river was the 9? and Sterner moved all in, having Allen's remaining 50,000 well covered. "I was going to call with ace-high," Allen said, letting out a laugh as he pondered the decision for his tournament life.
"I wish it was just like a four," he added as the minutes ticked off the clock. He eventually called with A?K? and let out a sigh of relief when Sterner revealed the same A?K? as they chopped the pot.
