Kovalski and Pertea Battle
Level 28
: Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Fabiano Kovalski got involved for the first time today, opening to 160,000 from under the gun. Marius-Catalin Pertea quickly made it 475,000 from two seats over to put the action back on the Brazilian. Kovalski returned his cards to the dealer after the action folded to him.
On the next deal, Pertea raised to 175,000 with A?Q?, and Kovalski defended his big blind with Q?10?. The latter check-raised to 375,000 over a bet of 150,000 on the 7?4?4? flop. Pertea thought briefly before calling. Kovalski fired out another 400,000 on the 5? turn, and Pertea continued to stick around. The 9? completed the board, and Kovalski used up a time bank before sliding 1,275,000 into the middle. Pertea rechecked his hand one last time before letting it go.
