Voronin Takes from Martirosian

Level 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Konstantin Voronin raised to 2,500 from early position and Artur Martirosian defended from the big blind.

The action checked through on the 5?J?6? flop and the 3? appeared on the turn. Martirosian bet 4,000 and Voronin called.

Martirosian opted to check the A? river and Voronin bet 13,500. Martirosian pondered for around a minute before flicking in the call.

Voronin tabled A?3? for two pair and took down the pot.

Zubov Gets Paid With Big Slick

Level 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Atanas Malinov limped under the gun before Oleg Ustinovich raised to 4,500 from the cutoff. Alexander Zubov three-bet to 15,500 out of the big blind, which only Ustinovich called.

Both players checked the Q?4?9? flop to see the K? hit the turn. Zubov led out for 16,000 and Ustinovich called.

Zubov fired out 35,000 upon seeing the 3? drop on the river, and after using two time-bank cards, Ustinovich called.

Zubov flipped over A?K? for a pair of kings which won the pot as Ustinovich mucked his cards.

The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Cyprus at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa continues today with the $20,000 NL Hold'em event starting at 12:30 p.m. local time. In addition to today's tournament, the EPT Cyprus schedule includes other high buy-in events, such as three $25,000 tournaments and a $50,000 EPT Super High Roller later this week.

Last year, this event had a $25,000 buy-in and saw Austria's Alexander Tkatschew come out on top, beating a field of 59 to claim the $432,090 first-place prize. Tkatschew overcame a stacked final table that included Dimitar Danchev, PokerStars Ambassador Sam Grafton, and Artur Martirosian before defeating Teun Mulder heads-up. This year's tournament follows the same structure, just with a lower buy-in.
