Fabrice Maltez
Fabrice Maltez

Stoyan Madanzhiev moved all in for 4,000 from under the gun. Toni Kaukua called from early position. Abdelhakim Zoufri called in the hijack and Martin Stoyanov called in the cutoff. Fabrice Maltez called on the button and Maksim Skripkin completed in the small blind.

With the bounty up for grabs, everyone checked the Q?10?Q? flop. Everyone checked again on the 4? turn before Maltez bet 8,000. Only Stoyanov called.

The 10? was checked down. Maltez showed 9?4? and Stoyanov tabled J?9?. The pot was chopped and one of the two players will draw the bounty then chop up the amount of the pull between them, as discussed by the two players and the floor.

Mystery Bounties Come Into Play on Day 2 of the $3,000 EPT Mystery Bounty

Samuel Ju
Samuel Ju

The PokerStars European Poker Tour Cyprus at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa continues today with Day 2 of the $3,000 Mystery Bounty. Over yesterday's only starting flight, 779 players found their way to the felt to compete. Of those, only 185 remain. However, with registration still open until the start of Day 2, this number is only anticipated to grow.

As the dust settled, it was Uladzimir Zhyharau who took the all-important title of chip leader, accumulating an impressive sum of 368,000. However, Zhyharau was closely tailed for the accolade as his nearest competitor, Ray Qartomy, secured an equally plentiful stack of 360,000.

Start of Day 2 Top 10 Chip Counts:

A stacked field of familiar faces ensured many notable names would be returning to the felt for Day 2. High-stakes regular Morten Klein managed to accumulate a top-ten start after winning a monster pot late into Day 1; Klein’s full house had an easy decision when Moussa Thibaut turned his missed flush draw into a big bluff.

German crusher Samuel Ju will also be returning to the field this afternoon. Ju fired more than one bullet in yesterday’s flight, but it was his final attempt late into the night that yielded the best result. The floor had already announced just five more hands will be played to conclude yesterday’s Day 1 flight; Ju sat down to play his first hand of this bullet and instantly sucked out to double up.

At the start of Day 2, all players will be given a Mystery Bounty Token upon seating; if you eliminate a player you will collect their Mystery Bounty Token. Any time after 5:15 p.m. (the second break), players can take any collected tokens to the Mystery Bounty desk to draw an envelope. The Mystery Bounty prize amounts will be determined by tournament entries and remaining players and will be announced by the tournament floor.

PokerNews will have boots on the ground for the entirety of this Mystery Bounty as the event plays down to a winner tomorrow, so be sure to stick with the live updates to keep up with all the action.
