Day 1b of the €1,100 PokerStars France Poker Series (FPS) Main Event Due to Kick-Off

Welcome to PokerNews coverage of Day 1b of the €1,100 FPS Main Event of the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris, being held at the beautiful Le Palais des Congrès, in cooperation with Le Club Barrière Paris.

Day 1b is due to commence at 6 p.m. local time, with all players receiving 30,000 in starting chips and playing 30-minute levels, starting at level 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Each Day 1 flight will play down to 15 percent of the field, with all players who find a bag for Day 2 being in the money.

A maximum of seven entries per player are permitted across all flights, with the first appearance counting as the initial entry. Each starting day then subsequently permits one reentry, with late registration for each flight closing after the start of Level 11.

Days 1c and 1d will take place on Thursday, February 15 at noon and 6 p.m. local time, featuring 40-minute and 30-minute levels respectively, following the same structure as previous flights.

Days 1e and 1f are scheduled to commence on Friday, February 16 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. local time, and will feature 30-minute and 20-minute levels respectively, but otherwise following the same structure as previous flights. All players who advance to Day 2 will return on Saturday, February 17 at noon local time to 60-minute levels.

Day 1a is already underway and at the time of writing has attracted 284 entries, with notable names such as Bruno Fitoussi, David Docherty and Maria Konnikova already in the mix.

Johnson Drills River, Doubles Through Simons

Yves Thalmann opened to 800 from early position and was three-bet to 2,800 by Symeon Alexandridis in middle position. Anton Johnson called cold from the cutoff and Bobby Simons made it 9,500 from the small blind.

Thalmann and Alexandridis folded, but Johnson went all in for his remaining 19,000. Simons quickly called to put Johnson at risk and hands were revealed.

Picking the action up on a board of K?5?8?6? in a battle between Yannice Bahri on the button and Anton Johnson in the small blind, and with around 22,000 already in the middle, Johnson check-called a bet of 8,500 from Bahri.

On the 5? river Johnson checked to Bahri, who thought through the spot for quite some time before eventually moving all in, covering Johnson, who had about 16,000 behind, and putting him to the test for his stack.

Johnson took a couple of minutes agonizing over the decision before making the call.

Bahri turned over A?K? for a pair of kings and Johnson showed 10?8? for second pair with a pair of eights, sending him to the exit.
