Rui Ferreira moved all in from under the gun for, what looked to be, 135,000. Quan Zhou snap-called in the big blind.
Rui Ferreira: K?10?
Quan Zhou: J?J?
Zhou had Ferreira on the ropes as the flop landed 6?J?4?, giving him top set. The 5? turn had Ferreira drawing dead as the dealer placed the irrelevant 8? on the river. Ferreira made his way to the rail.
The pot stood at approximately 90,000 with two players looking at a full board of J?2?Q?J?Q?.
Tamas Adamszki moved all in from the big blind, putting Juan Pardo, in the cutoff, to the test for his remaining 71,000. Pardo went deep into the tank, finally choosing to make the call.
Juan Pardo: A?10?
Tamas Adamszki: J?9?
Pardo called off the bet with just ace-high but ran into the full house of Adamszki, sending him to the rail.
Pieter Aerts moved all in for 110,000 from the small blind. Sam Greenwood received a count before making the call from the big blind, covering Aerts by just 5,000 chips.
Pieter Aerts: A?8?
Sam Greenwood: A?4?
Aerts got it in good, however, the 6?4?Q? flop gave Greenwood outs to a flush draw. The 7? turn had Aerts drawing dead and the 9? river saw him to the rail.
A total of 43 entries generated a prize pool of €1,011,360 ensuring six places will be paid. A minimum cash will secure a payday of €70,800, while the winner will walk away with €348,860 and a silver PokerStars spadie.
Adrian Mateos, in the hijack, found himself all in and at risk for his last 80,000 against Rui Ferreira, in the big blind.
Adrian Mateos: A?K?
Rui Ferreira: A?Q?
Mateos got it in good with a dominating holding, however, the Q?9?Q? flop gave Ferreira trips. The J? turn brought hope as it gave Mateos a straight flush draw, but the Q? river upgraded Ferreira to quads and Mateos was the first casualty of the day.
On a near by table, Kazuhiko Yotsushika could also be seen leaving to the rail.
