Barer Folds Top Set, Extends Kaufmann's Lead
David Kaufmann looked down at 10?10? in middle position and raised it up to 300,000. Peter Jorgne called in the cutoff with 7?7? and the action folded to Ami Barer in the big blind, who was sitting with J?J?.
After thinking for a while, he tossed in a call and a flop of J?10?2? was dealt. Barer checked his top set before Kaufmann bet out 300,000 with his middle set. Jorgne called with his sevens, but Barer bumped up the price to 1,400,000.
Kaufmann put in the extra chips, while Jorgne quickly got out of the way. The 6? turn rolled off and Barer used one time bank card before firing 2,675,000 in the middle, about half his remaining stack. Kaufmann just called and the 3? river completed the board.
Barer slowed down and checked the flush-completing card, but Kaufmann pushed enough chips in the middle to put Barer all-in for his final 2,780,000. Barer took a long time but eventually convinced himself to fold the better hand and conceded the pot to Kaufmann.
