Annette Obrestad Eliminates Trond Eidsvig

Annette Obrestad has just eliminated her fourth opponent of the day, sending Trond Eidsvig to the rail in 4th place.

Trond had moved all in before the flop for a total of 286,000 and Annette made the call.

Obrestad: A-A
Trond: J-J

The community cards came 2-5-2-10-Q and Annette's aces held up to win the pot. This hand marks the second time today that Annette has eliminated an opponent with pocket aces.

For his 4th-place finish, Trond Eidsvig earned 127,630 in prize money.

Peters Takes One from Eidsvig

Reuben Peters got the best of Trond Eidsvig, winning over 120,000 new chips in a hand that never saw a flop.

Reuben opened the pot with a button raise and Annette Obrestad folded from the small blind. Trond then reraised, prompting Reuben to move all in over the top for just under 400,000 total.

Trond pondered his decision for some time before eventually tossing his cards face-up into the muck; he'd folded A-10.

The hand moved Peters into second place in chips.

Reuben Peters Doubles Through Annette_15

Moments ago, American Reuben Peters doubled through tournament chip leader Annette Obrestad to stay alive in the tournament.

All of the money went into the pot pre-flop and Annette had a slight edge, tabling A-K offsuit against Peters' {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, giving Peters a gutshot straight flush draw and a couple of overcards to the flop, which actually put him in the lead against Annette's ace-high. The {3-Spades} on the turn swapped the odds once again, however, and Peters would need to hit one of his many outs to stay alive.

Sure enough, a queen fell off on the river and Peters took down the pot, doubling through to approximately 800,000 chips after the hand.

Correction

Earlier we incorrectly reported that Annette Obrestad eliminated Anders Pettersson from the event, when it was, in fact, Trond Eidsvig who sent Pettersson packing.

The erroneous blog post has been modified with the correct information.
