Christin Maschmann Named Most Valuable (PokerStars Staff) Player at EPT Malta
PokerStars was kind enough to share a little story with us about one of their valuable staff members; in fact, their most valuable staff member here in poker (at least in terms of playing poker). Here's what they had to say:
Christin Maschmann, who works at the PokerStars HQ on the Isle of Man, admits she doesnt get off the island very often - but when she does, she heads to poker tournaments. Shes here now at the EPT Malta Poker Festival C celebrating her 36th birthday, catching up with friends (at the festival and at PokerStars.eu nearby office in Sliema) - and playing as many tournaments as she can.
One of the highlights of her trip so far was a very deep run in the stacked 2,000 No-Limit event. It was by far the biggest tournament she has ever played and on Day 2 her table draw put up against some of the toughest players in poker including Fabian Quoss, Massou Cohen, Igor Pihela, Bernd Vogelhuber and Lothar Meier. She ultimately finished ten off the money after winning her seat for the event in a live 170 satellite, but her disappointment over that result was short-lived because the very next day she finished third in the 200 Limit Hold'em Turbo Deepstack for 1,460.
"My holidays are usually poker-related," Maschmann said. "Seven times in Vegas in summer, the Irish Open every Easter for six years in a row and EPTs where I can meet friends, play and well.... I guess I do poker trips 2-3 times a year and I usually just play side events. In total I think I played about 20-25 EPT side events. The satellite to the 2K was 170. It was a 1R/1A. I had a nice cash game score the night before on my birthday so I did the 150 add on and managed to spin it up nicely and fold myself into winning the sat."
Maschmanns Hendon Mob page shows shes made the final of every event shes ever cashed in, and shes already ranked #14 in the Isle of Man all-time money list C not bad given how many aspiring poker players live and work there!
The German-born project manager isnt giving up on EPT Malta either, concluding: "I'll be back later for the Crazy Pineapple and the Mega Stack."
