Allera Makes Lodden Think
A raise to 1,300 from under the gun saw Johnny Lodden make the call. The dealer scooped up seat one’s cards who suddenly noticed he had no cards in front of him and he hadn’t even seen them. He was rather put out, but another player reminded him that it was his responsibility to protect his hand.
Florence Allera called in the small blind and the big blind came along as well.
Four players saw a flop of and it was checked around. On the turn card Allera led out for 3,000 and it was just Lodden who put in the calling chips. The river card saw Allera strike a thoughtful pose and throw out a bet of 8,000.
Lodden twirled his cards around on the table beneath his fingers. Allera has a tight image, Lodden knew this, but then surely so did Allera. Was this the time to use that image to make Lodden lay down a hand? You could see Lodden going through all sorts of calculations but in the end Lodden flicked his cards away.
“This one time.” Allera said and turned her cards over for the table to see: for quads. Lodden nodded and Allera turned to the player who had his cards taken by the dealer and said, “You could have had a jack.”
