Action of the Day

Cards went in the air for H-03: $5,250 Bounty Hunters Main Event at 12:05 eastern time and Chris Moorman and Isaac Haxton build big early stacks. A couple hours after the tournament began, Haxton already had nearly 600,000 chips, about 200K more than his closest rival. However, he got into a massive spot against Thomas Muehloecker about 90 minutes before late registration ended, but his aces were cracked by Muehloecker's king-ten and Haxton never recovered.

They cracked the guarantee about 30 minutes before the end of the registration period, and by the time the desk closed, there were 325 entries in total, putting $1,625,000 into the prize pool. A total of 47 players were set to get paid, but still 70 players left in action.

It took less than an hour to play down into the money with Bruno Volkmann getting hit with a brutal beat to bubble in 48th. He got his money in good with jacks over tens against David Peters, but Peters spiked the case ten on the turn to put everyone in the money.

Action really picked up after the bubble, and within an hour, there were just 24 players left in action. After another hour of play, the final table was set with Joakim Andersson and Daniel Dvoress leading the way. Second place finisher Salas came into the final table in the middle of the list, but winner Maslak was the short stack when the final table convened.

Peters found the exit fairly quickly from the final table, but after that, play stalled. It took more than an hour of eight-handed play before Gustavo "Astor" Mastelotto ended his day in eighth place. Andersson followed a few minutes later after Dvoress got there with a flush to knock out the Swede.

They played six handed for a while with Salas gaining the chip lead after a huge river against Dvoress when he capped Dvoress' trips with the river boat. Salas took the bounty of Aliaksandr Hirs a few minutes later, and that opened the floodgates as Salas took out Giovanni "HEIZENBERG_G" Zanette and Maslak took out Dvoress and Urmo Velvelt.

Salas took over the lead right after heads up began, but Maslak went on a tear after that, winning 6 hands without showdown to take the lead before finding a cooler. Both players flopped a king, but Salas was dominated and Maslak held for the win.

Salas banked $47,422 in bounties along with $102,963 for second. Maslak took $126,406 in bounties plus the top prize of $103,125.
