Hong Kong Stars vs. Berlin Bears
Day 1 Completed
Bill Perkins has defeated Celina Lin to send the Hong Kong Stars to the GPL Playoff rail and move on to play the top seeded Moscow Wolverines.
Perkins was poised to win the match with pocket queens versus the pocket sixes of Lin. She shoved all in and Perkins hesitated for a moment before calling and putting Lin at risk. This began a series of three turns that changed the outcome of the tournament. Lin hit a six on this turn to double up. A few hands later, Perkins hit a nine on the turn to complete a straight and come from behind to double through Lin.
Finally, the turn that ended the match came after Lin got all in with king-high against the ace-high of Perkins. Lin flopped a king and Perkins wondered aloud if there was a god. The turn brought an ace, giving Perkins the win and putting the Berlin Bears through to the Eurasia Conference Final.

Sorell Mizzi beat Randy Lew heads up to give the Berlin Bears a 3-2 series lead over the Hong Kong Stars.
The two players took about 15 minutes off in the middle of the match to fix some technical difficulties. Eventually Lew got all in with a flush draw against Mizzi's top pair. Mizzi managed to win the match, despite getting himself into the Hot Seat, which gave him only four seconds to make each decision when he ran out of his allotted time.
