Mike McDonald just eliminated Jonathan Jaffe and the San Francisco Rush from the GPL Playoffs.
Despite taking a 2-0 lead to start the day, the Rush lost four of the next five matches. In the deciding match, McDonald took a big lead after flopping the nuts against the pair of Jaffe. Shortly after that, the two players got all in preflop, both holding an ace. McDonald had the better ace and won the hand, leaving Jaffe with just one big blind.
Jaffe then went on to double up three times, coming from behind before ultimately losing when McDonald shoved all in with against Jaffe's ten big blinds. Jaffe had , but ended up busting when McDonald flopped two pair. The turn card was the perfect card for a sweat, but it wasn't to be as the Montreal Nationals booked their seat in the Americas final. They will face the winner of the next match, either the Los Angeles Sunset or the Sao Paulo Mets.

The series is now tied and the Nationals and San Francisco Rush are heading to game seven. Ladouceur fell earlier in the day to Phil Galfond, after Galfond doubled up with kings against Ladouceur's ace-king and went on to win the match and put the Rush up 2-0. The series is now tied after Ladouceur got another ace-high in against a big hand. Jaka had pocket queens and called with 12 big blind left.
