Danzer Wins Final Heat, Filatov Scores 2-1 Victory
George Danzer has won the last heat of this second Global Poker League heads-up match of the day.
Anatoly Filatov was down to 18,000 chips in the 1k/2k-level and went all-in with . Danzer called, holding .
Danzer was behind, but the flop gave him a lot of extra outs. The almost sealed the deal. Filatov was down to the for a split pot. The river was a club, but it was the giving Danzer the win in this last heat.
Anatoly Filatov can still look back at a great match. He won the first two tough fights against Danzer and takes the victory in this match. He scored six points increasing the Moscow Wolverines lead in the Eurasia conference.
The Wolverines now have 136 points and are 23 points clear of the London Royals and the Hong Kong Stars. Taken in account that the Royals yet have to play their heads-up match later today.
Filatov raked in 56 of those 136 points and is now the GPL topscorer together with Fedor Holz.
Danzer only scored three points today, but that's just enough for his Paris Aviators to climb back to the fourth place. They collected a total of 111 points so far, just one more than the Rome Emperors.
There's now a 40-minute break before the last heads-up match of the day starts. In that match, Justin Bonomo, representing the London Royals, will take on Dominik Nitsche for the Berlin Bears.
