Kamel Claims GUKPT Luton Main Event Day 1a Chip Lead in the Final Level
The first flight of the GUKPT Luton Main Event is in the books with 20 players advancing from a field of 99.
The chip leader is Tamer Kamel who bagged 215,500 ahead of Ben Maregedze with 181,000. James Clarke sits third in chips with 175,100.
Kamel won a big pot against Terry Jordon in the final level when he hit a flush against Jordon's trip kings, and propelled himself up the chip counts having been below 50,000 for most of the day.
Players who were unable to survive included Jordon, defending champion David Docherty, Ryan Mandara, Yucel Eminoglu, Jacob Mulhern, Willie Tann, Sonia Padovani and Alberto Speranzoni.
