Mal Hagan Eliminated in 19th Place ($10,299)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Mal Hagan - 19th place
Mal Hagan - 19th place

A short-stacked Mal Hagan got the last of his chips in with {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was up against Martin Godsk and his {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. The board would run out {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Godsk would manage to avoid the diamond flush draw that Hagan picked up to eliminate him in 19th place.

Matt Sundberg Eliminated in 20th Place ($10,299)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Matt Sundberg - 20th place
Matt Sundberg - 20th place

Matt Sundberg raised to 40,000 preflop and Simon Deadman three-bet to 84,000. On the {A-Clubs}{4-Spades}{K-Diamonds} flop, the Brit check-called 130,000 and put his best Hollywood performance in to get his opponent all in after checking the {6-Clubs} turn.

Sundberg walked into the trap with {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and was crushed by the "aces magnet" Deadman, as the Brit turned over {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. The meaningless {8-Hearts} river completed the board and Deadman is our by far chip leader at the moment.

Wang Doubles Through Salas

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Dmitry Kataev opened the action with a raise to 42,000 and Michael Wang moved all in from the button for 506,000. Damian Salas asked for a count and then moved all in himself to scare off Kataev.

Wang: {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Salas: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The pocket pair of Wang held on the {7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and he celebrated that with the words "sick hold."

Andy Spears Eliminated in 21st Place ($10,299)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Andy Spears - 21st place
Andy Spears - 21st place

We didn't catch the preflop and flop action, but on the {K-Spades}{A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} turn, Andy Spears bet 140,000 and Damian Salas moved all in. Spears had less than 350,000 chips behind and eventually made the call with {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Once he saw the {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} of his opponent, he let go a deep sigh and the words "what is that for a turn."

Only an ace on the river could save him but the {Q-Hearts} wasn't any help to see him depart in 21st place.

Yazici Doubles Through Kuo

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

After the previous huge pot that he lost, Bradley Yazici was all in from early position for 77,000 chips and Kitty Kuo called from the big blind. Kuo had two live cards with the {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} against {Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}. The {K-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts} board gave some sweat but ultimately the better hand preflop held up.

Alex Goulder Eliminated in 22nd Place ($10,299)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Alex Goulder - 22nd place
Alex Goulder - 22nd place

We got to the table and Alex Goulder was all in and at risk against Martin Godsk and in need of a lot of help as he was dominated. Goulder held {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Godsk {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. The board would run out {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Godsk would deliver the knock out blow to Goulder who was eliminated in 22nd place for $10,299.

Jorn Walthaus Doubles Through Bradley Yazici

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jorn Walthaus and Bradley Yazici would exchange raises until the two were both all in and it was Walthaus who was at risk with {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and he was racing against Yazici who held {K-}{Q-}. It would be a race that Walthaus would win when the board ran out {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. That moved Walthaus's stack up to 950,000 while Yazici was crippled and sitting with just 90,000 after the hand.

Tommie Jansen Eliminated in 23rd Place ($10,299)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Tommie Janssen - 23rd place
Tommie Janssen - 23rd place

Tommie Janssen was the chip leader after the first day and already had reason to cheer earlier today when the Netherlands won 2-1 at the very last minute to advance to the quarter finals of the World Cup in Brazil.

However, his poker day ended within the first five minutes of play. He got it in with {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} against the {A-}{K-} of over-night chip leader Simon Deadman and was unable to improve.
