A Winner Will Be Crowned on Day 2 of the 2014 Hollywood Poker Open Grantville Regional Championship
Welcome back to the 2014 Hollywood Poker Open Grantville Regional Championship $1,800 buy-in Main Event here at the Penn National Race Course in Pennsylvania. What stated with 37 players is now down to the final nine, and today they'll play down to a winner. Who will take home the $22,752 first-place prize and a seat into the $2,500 HPO Championship in Vegas this June?
If chips are any indication, it would be chip leader Bradley Yazici, who bagged up 170,400 after 12 levels of play on Saturday. Yazici got a good portion of his chips by eliminating 2007 World Series of Poker seventh-place finisher Lee Childs, who ran an ill-timed bluff. Likewise, Yazici eliminated Ken Moore in the closing minutes of the night to solidify his chips lead.
Yazici may hold the chips lead, but not by much. Nipping at his heels is Jason Thomas with 156,100. On Day 1, Thomas clashed with HPO Ambassador and 2003 WSOP Main Event champ Chris Moneymaker on several occasions. While he didn't eliminate Moneymaker, he did manage to take him for quite a few chips throughout the day.
The only other player coming in with more than 100K is John Kostelac (118,200), who was one of the most active players on Day 1 despite playing with one arm. The other is tucked away in a sling, the result of tearing his rotator cuff while walking some dogs his wife had rescued. Kostelac seems to have a kind heart, but his play at the table is ruthless.
Chi Do, Mike Summers, Vicki Russel and Peter Kaemmerlen will start the day in the middle of the pack, while Kenneth "Hockey" Hock and Fritz Neunkirchner will have their work cut out for themselves as the short stacks.
We'll be bringing you some more information on each player as the day unfolds, but in the meantime check out where they're seated at the table:
The Final Table

1 | Chi Do | 68,200 |
2 | Kenneth "Hockey" Hock | 18,800 |
