Simpson Hoping Three Time's the Charm

Ian Simpson is back in the first level for the third consecutive day. Simpson has not made it through to Day 2 yet and thus needs to survive either Day 1c or Day 1d today to have a shot at the trophy.
In his most recent hand, Simpson open-raised the cutoff to 300, and got called by Augusto Evangelisti on the button and Bram Berkvens in the big blind.
The flop came down royally: 
. Simpson continuation-bet for 500 after a check from Berkvens, and Evangelisti made the call. Berkvens got out of the way and the 
appeared on the felt as the turn.
Evangelisti checked again and this time Simpson overbet the pot by placing 3,000 chips in the middle. Evangelisti snap folded and the pot went Simpson's way.
