Day 1c of the Galway Poker Festival Main Event turned out to be the busiest so far, sporting 165 entries on the clock at the end of the late registration. One of them was PokerNews' very own Lukas "RobinPoker" Robinson, and he would be one of the 37 players who found a bag at the end of the 15 played levels.

Robinson bagged a below-average stack of 166,000 chips, equating to 21 big blinds at the start of play on Day 2 which is scheduled to take place at The Galmont Hotel & Spa Sunday, January 7 at noon. The poker streamer, who recently starred in the popular poker show Game of Gold, has his work cut out for him when he returns, but the same can not be said for Day 1c chipleader Stephen Henderson.

Henderson amassed 520,000 chips throughout the day, seeing him land on the top spot of the leaderboard at the end of the night. Henderson is followed by China's Yue Wang, who bagged just shy of half a million chips (496,000). Shean Lai, meanwhile, completes the top three with a stack of 480,000, while regulars Andrew Hedley (414,000) and Simon Wilson (354,000) also found themselves in the top ten at the end of Day 1c.

Other notables who made it through Day 1c include Ian Gascoigne (229,000), Irish Poker Tour Champion Liam McVeigh (215,000), and Italian regular Ivan Tononi (170,000). Less lucky were the likes of recent EPT Prague Champion Padraig O'Neill, Paddy Power Poker's Tom Parsons, and Irish Poker Tour Ambassadors Dara O'Kearney and Paul Monaghan, who all fizzled out at one point or another.

The Main Event is not over yet, however, as three more starting flights will take place tomorrow, Saturday, January 6. Day 1d will commence at noon, while another evening flight is planned at 5 p.m. with Day 1e. For those who want to play a faster structure, there will be Day 1f at 10 p.m. local time, which bears 15-minute levels. All remaining flights will complete 15 levels before they reach their completion. The 300,000 guaranteed prize pool has not been met yet, so expect some big fields tomorrow.

Tune back in to PokerNews then to see how the remainder of the starting flights play out, and who makes it to Day 2 to battle for Irish Poker Tour glory.
