There were two players with tiny stacks at the break in Quang Thanh Doan and Yan Viatcheslav Birg. Doan was able to chip up some before a battle of the short-stacks emerged.

Doan jammed all-in from late position ace-two. Birg called off his stack from one seat over with ace-queen and the remaining players all folded.

Birg was looking good until a two spiked the river and he was eliminated in 14th place for €3,560 while Doan now has a little bit of breathing room with a stack of 390,000.
