Last Day
The field that started with an impressive 307 runners now sits at just eight for this last and final day. Seven of the eight are from South America, including one playing right here at home in Uruguay. We've also got one Frenchman who would like nothing more than to steal this trophy and smuggle it back to Europe.
Here's the way the table looks heading into Day 4:
Seat 1: Roman Suarez - 403,000
Seat 2: Norbert Ludger - 1,596,000
Seat 3: Jose "Nacho" Barbero - 548,000
Seat 4: Bernardo Dias - 840,000
Seat 5: Andres Korn - 503,000
Seat 6: Nicolas Cardyn - 988,000
Seat 7: Daniela Zapiello - 560,000
Seat 8: Marco Caicedo - 666,000
We're right on our scheduled starting time of noon, but we anticipated a bit of a delay. The players are finishing up their interviews with a very attractive local television hostess, and the staff is still preparing the chip bags and the table. The cameras are being loaded with tapes and batteries, the lights are being aimed at the center of the stage, and there's a gentleman furiously wiping fingerprints off the shiny silver trophy.
We'll give you a heads up when things look like they're about to get rolling. We're in a holding pattern for now, but don't stray too far. The final table awaits!
