Sebastian Huber Leads Lex Live Main Event as Final Table Formed
It was an action packed Day 2 of the Lex Live Main Event, running at the Casino Barcelona, the 113 remaining players reduced to half that number within the first few levels and the bubble bursting soon after.
Following a two hour break to watch the Euro finals, the tournament was scheduled to finish at the end of Level 25. In the end, the final table was formed before that moment came and action was paused for the evening.
Team PokerStars Pro Sebastian Huber, known online as peacendloove, finished the day as chip leader with 2,960,000.
He's tailed by Damiano Aloi with 2,845,000 who came third in Day 1b and has been gradually amassing chips ever since.
Final Table Chip Counts
Rank | Player | Chip Count | Big Blinds |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Sebastian Huber | 2,960,000 | 74 |
2 | Damiano Aloi | 2,845,000 | 71 |
3 | Jordi Escriba | 2,105,000 | 53 |
4 | Niko Wieland | 1,820,000 | 46 |
5 | Sergio Rodriguez Cobos | 1,200,000 | 30 |
6 | Martin Biegajlo | 745,000 | 19 |
7 | Bakir Saranovic | 670,000 | 17 |
8 | Kamil Chrostowski | 505,000 | 13 |
9 | Oscar Penella Olive | 405,000 | 10 |
Huber and Aloi have been vying for the chip lead for most of Day 2, although not directly with each other. Aloi chipped up early and then won two pots in quick succession to give him the chip lead after the bubble had burst.
Moments later, Huber won two seperate all ins with pocket queens, then held with aces in a three-way pot to take it back.
Huber busted both Ryan Dansie and Oliver Hutchins on the final two tables, while Aloi eliminated Jaume Alomar, Dario Penjnovic, Christopher Badrian and Espen Brukstuen.
It will start off pretty much neck and neck between the two Lex Live patched players when the final table resumes.
Of course, there's seven other players left in contention and it's still anybody's game to play for. If anyone can make a comeback, it's Martin Biegajlo. He had just a little over one big blind in his stack following the bubble and has spun that up to a seventh place position on the final table with 670,000 chips.
The Lex Live Main Event attracted 442 entries in total for a prize pool of 172,380. The prize for the outright winner is 31,000.
The tournament resumes on Monday at 3 p.m. local time part way through Level 25, with blinds on 20,000/20,000/40,000.
