2Joshua Manus$8,775
3Deepak Thomas$6,403

6David Hubbard$2,727
7Rob Valden$2,134
8Rick Owens$1,660
9Logan Hewett$1,304

He started to become a force late in the day with two tables remaining, gathering chips through eliminations and took a sizable chip lead into the final table, where he would have relatively smooth sailing as he was able to use his large stack effectively to push around his opponents and never let them get much of a foothold.

The only instance where he was threatened was when Deepak Thomas called his river jam during three-handed play, to briefly take a slight chip lead over Fitzpatrick. But that lead would be short lived as Thomas would go out in 3rd place not long afterwards, finsihed off by Fitzpatrick who then made quick work of Joshua Manua heads up to take down the title.

Action of the Day

The surprise bounty format proved to be very popular amongst the players today as there were bounties ranging from $0 to $1,000 available for a knockout. The jackpot $1,000 bounty was won byGarrett Jones in the middle part of the day as the other ones were scattered about the room as the eliminations went swiftly.

There were fifteen VIP bounties players, who were with $300 for their elimination. Jim Echiverri made it the furthest out the VIP bounties, battling all the way down to 4th place before he was eliminated to set up the aforementioned three-handed play.

PokerNews will resume updates of the Lone Star Poker Series on Tuesday April 27 with wall to wall coverage of the much anticipated $1 Million GTD Main Event, which will begin at 11 a.m.
