Day 2 of the Marrakech Poker Open Main Event is set to continue again at 12 p.m local time. The luxurious Es Saadi Resort has been hosting the events here over the past few days and the success has been wonderful. In total 426 entries, with 192 reentries, have been clocked with 98 hopefuls returning to the felt to pursue the coveted title of the biggest MPO ever.

Diego Sarmiento can be found at the top of the overall leaderboard with 538,500 in chips in total which he collected on Day 1a. Trailing just behind him is the chip leader of Day 1b, Mohamed Ait Chaib, with exactly 500,000 chips. Closing out the podium is Muhammed Hakim with 338,000 chips.

Other players to keep a close eye on include WSOP champion Jean-Luc Adam (225,00), Anas Tadini, (225,000), Christophe Pollet (178 000) and Rakesh Lalwani (135,500), who already final tabled two events this week. Imad Derwiche (80,000), after 11 reentries, Tristan Forge (80,500), Javier Tsunamy (80,000), Isabel Baltazar (48,000), Sonny Franco (27,500) and Hanna Azimai (35,000) have all bagged a below average stack for today so will be looking to run that up to a great stack for Day 3.

The plan for today is open-ended, and tournament officials have said that they will play it by ear as to how many levels are played today, or whether the aim is to reach the final 16 players.

Whatever happens, we will come back to Level 12 with blinds at 1,000/ 2,500 and a running ante of 2,500. The duration of the levels will increase to 60 minutes each.
