Frenchman Adrien Sanz is the reigning Marrakech Poker Open Main Event champion, having navigated his way through a field of 295 entrants to capture a top prize worth the equivalent of $74,804.

Sanz defeated long-time player Karim Lehoussine in heads-up play to collect the first-place prize of 770,000 Moroccan Dirhams.

Sanz, who started the day with a comfortable chip lead, managed to stay ahead for the entire final day. Thierry Gogniat's third-place finish confirmed a full French podium after he collected 380,000 MAD.

We are now only a few hours away from finding out who the winner of the 10,000 MAD Marrakech Poker Open Main Event will be, here at the Es Saadi Resort in Marrakech.

After three flights and Day 2 yesterday, nine players remain out of a field of 215 entrants. They have reached the final table of the tournament, led by Fabian Rolli who bagged 1,830,000 chips. He is followed by two Spanish players who almost have the same stack: Juan Antonio (1,625,000) and Aitor Cruz (1,620,000).
