Voronin Splits Then Leaves
After an open by Aleksandr Kirichenko in early position to 12,000, Michel Molenaar called from the button, and Konstantin Voronin completed from the big blind.
Kirichenko continued for 13,000 on the 6?J?3? flop. Molenaar called, then Voronin raised to 56,000. Kirichenko folded, but Molenaar raised again. Voronin snap-called, finding himself at risk.
Konstantin Voronin: A?J?
Michel Molenaar: A?J?
Both players had the same hand, so they split the pot.
On the next hand, Voronin bet 34,000 from the small blind on a board of A?9?2?J?2? with already 120,000 in the pot. Kirichenko under the gun moved all-in, and Voronin went deep into the tank. He eventually called with the single red chip worth 100,000 he had left.
Konstantin Voronin: A?6?
Aleksandr Kirichenko:?A?K?
Voronin called with a pair of aces, but Kirichenko had a better kicker so Voronin was sent to the rail.
