The 12-day Merit Poker Gangster Series at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino in North Cyprus kicks off at 12 p.m. local time with Day 1a of the $2,200 Warm Up. The six-day tournament consists of four starting flights and a $700,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The $2,200 Warm Up was also featured a few months ago in the 2023 Merit Poker Retro Series, with a similar structure. That event was won by Lebanon’s Hadi Khadra, who overcame a field of 809 total entries to take home $264,400. Merit poker regulars such as Damir Zhugralin, Andreas Christoforou and Giorgiy Skhulukhiya also made deep runs in that event, with Skhulukhiya finishing in sixth for $53,600.
