Day 1b of the $2,200 PSPC Event #3 at the Pennsylvania State Poker Championship has wrapped up for the evening at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia. The second of the four flights saw 25 entrants with four players making the money and advancing to Day 2. Alex Kim emerged as the chip leader, after accumulating 384,500 chips throughout the day

Alex Kim is from Long Island City, NY and his live tournament earnings top over $180,000. Most notably, his best cash came in June of this year at the WSOP’s $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold’em for $174,800. Kim is primed to add more to that total this weekend, in hopes to make a deep Day 2 run.

Angel Lopez was the unfortunate stone bubble after battling five-handed for over two hours of play and eventually falling short to Alex Kim’s Ace-King.

Day 1a started yesterday at 11:15 a.m. local time with 34 players entering the field trying to make it into Day 2. When it was all said and done five players advanced to Day 2 including Bin Weng who bagged the chip lead with a whopping 756,000 chips. Day 1c will begin tomorrow at 11:15 a.m. local time and Day 1d which will be the final flight, starts Saturday, September 7th at 10:15 a.m. local time. Day 2 begins Sunday, September 8th at 11:15 a.m. local time and will play all the way down until a winner is crowned.

Day 1c will begin in Level 1 with blinds of 100/100 and a 100 big blind ante. All Day 1’s will be 40-minute levels, with a 15-minute break after every three levels of play, and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 9. Players will start with 40,000 in chips, and late registration will go until the start of Level 13. Play for Day 1 flights will conclude once 12.5% of the field remains, and those who bag will be in the money for Day 2.

Another reward to the winner is a Gold Pass to the NAPT Las Vegas Main Event in November. PokerStars will award the winner of this event the Gold Pass package, which includes travel, accommodation, and the $5,300 tournament buy-in.
