Cheong Starts Over
Level 9
: 500/1,000, 100 ante
When we walked up to the table, Joseph Cheong was heads up with Payman Arjang on a {3c] flop. Cheong fired out a bet of 3,300, and Arjang tanked for a moment before raising to 10,200 total. Cheong instantly reraised with a stack of high-denomination chips, enough to put Arjang to the decision for his last 25,200 total. The call eventually came, and it was Arjang's in the lead. Turning over , Cheong was open-ended, and the turn gave him another nine outs to the knockout.
The river was the blank , though, and Cheong was forced to grant Arjang the double up, sliding back to his starting stack with 30,000 once again.
