The last card off was the , and the small blind checked. The big blind, however, fired out 2,500 at the pot. Hellmuth shot a sideways glance at his opponent before saying, "Raise it up." He tossed 7,000 chips into the middle of the felt, and the small blind quickly folded. The big blind shrugged and smirked, seemingly amused by the spot he was in, and he made the call with for the nut straight.
It was no good; Hellmuth tabled for the big flush, dragging in his first sizable pot of the day. That moves him up above the chip average to about 24,000.
