A Few More Bustouts

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The action continues to move quickly here as the field is down to 42 remaining now. In the hand that saw M.A. Jeffery exit the tournament in 44th, he got his money in good with ace-six against the king-seven of his opponent. He even flopped to stay ahead, with both an ace and a king on the flop. The double-up looked good for him on the brick turn, but the river came another king to send him to the cage for $1,583.00.

Here are the other players who have busted in recent play:

Angus McLeod Was the Bubble

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

In a crazy hand, Angus McLeod was the last person to bust before the money. He got his stack in with kings, and was ahead of the ace-five caller, but there was an ace on the {8-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} board and McLeod's day was done in 52nd place.

All the remaining players are now in the money and guaranteed at least $1,253.

Berscht Busts Just Before Cash

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

James Berscht was in his first ever poker tournament here at the 2019 SIGA Poker Championships. He'd never played online, and only played previously with family, and in a small home game in his home town of Lloydminster, but SIGA was his first "official" tournament. While he missed the money spots by a few places when he called off with suited ace-king, but ran into the top of his opponent's range with kings.

Even though he failed to make the cash, it was still a pretty decent showing for his first official tournament.

Just 55 Players Remain

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action is getting very close to the money now, as just four more players will go home empty handed. The tournament is still proceeding normally, but they plan to go hand for hand at 53 players remaining.

Wasko's Ace is Good

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Dale Wasko
Dale Wasko

Dale Wasko raised to 16,000 from under the gun, and only Kyle Woloshyn, on the button, made the call. The flop came {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Wasko led out for 23,000, which Woloshyn called.

The turn came {5-Hearts} and drew checks from both players. The {4-Clubs} river also checked around, and Woloshyn mucked his hand when Wasko showed {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for ace-high.
