The second of six opening flights in the €350 International Poker Open Main Event has come to an end with 22 players battling their way through the day from the 160 entries.

Those survivors will join the 12 that made it through Day 1a for Day 2 on Sunday, October 27. It brings the cumulative total of entries in the Main Event to 240 with four flights left to play out.

Coming out on top of Day 1b’s leaderboard was Ireland's own John Vogelaar with 410,000 and has the biggest stack so far of all the players headed for Day 2. Vogelaar was the beneficiary of an ill-timed squeeze play by Daryl Mcaleenan with ace-five during the penultimate level of the day, running right into Vogelaar's pocket tens.

Rounding out the top three stacks were Audrius Daugvilavicius of Lithuania with 392,000 and Daire Burke with 345,000. Ireland's Stephen Leahy managed to finish just inside the top ten with a healthy stack of 206,000. Leahy boasts over $160,000 in live tournament earnings and has a plethora of cashes. However, he only has one registered cash in Ireland, but with over 40 big blinds to start Day 2, he looks set to make his second from the IPO Main Event.

One of the most accomplished players to survive the day is the United Kingdom's Leo Worthington-Leese, who bagged up 175,000 for Day 2. A large portion of that stack came after he rivered Broadway to bust Conor McCrossan in one of the day's last levels. Worthington-Leese has over $1,600,000 in live tournament earnings and must be oozing with confidence after achieving a career-best score of $437,918 just a few weeks ago.

Tomorrow, Day 1c gets underway at 2 p.m. local time and follows the same structure as the previous two fights. Players are allowed to enter up to two times per flight, so it is another opportunity for players to enter and try to run up a stack and make it through to the second day of play on Sunday.??
