Laurent Knocks Out Two

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Kent Laurent woke up under the gun with {q-}{q-}. Laurent raised and action folded around to the player on the button, who called with the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The player in the small blind called with {9-}{9-} and the big blind folded.

An action flop of {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Hearts} appeared and every chip these three players possessed was pushed towards the center.

With the {a-Hearts} and {6-Clubs} coming on the turn and river respectively, a stack of nearly 20,000 was pushed in Laurent's direction as the other two players left the room.

Keep an Eye Out for the Pink Tutu

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Quinn Olsen? and ?Stephanie Daas
Quinn Olsen? and ?Stephanie Daas

This weekend FPN fans will want to keep an eye out for ?Quinn Olsen? and ?Stephanie Daas?.

The former should be easy to spot as he'll be donning a pink tutu after losing a prop bet.

Quinn made a prop bet that he would wear an Ace Ventura-style pink tutu ?if players would donate a certain amount of items in his food drive.

Players from Ham Lake Lanes and Route 65 in Minnesota didn't disappoint as support poured in and the drive ballooned to ?3,308 items weighing 1524 pounds.

Thanks to all those players for supporting a good cause and forcing Quinn to walk into the Golden Nugget sporting a pink tutu!

One Pair is Enough

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Kent Laurent flatted from early position for 1,000. Action folded around to Linda Forte on the button and she called. With no aggression coming from the players in the small or big blind it was four-way action to the flop.

A flop of {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts} saw Norbert Kreuzer and Gene Haldorson check from the blinds. Laurent was not ready to check and put out a bet of 4,000. Action folded through back to Haldorson in the big blind and he called.

The {2-Diamonds} on the turn brought a check from Haldorson while Laurent continued his aggressive nature with a bet of 4,000. Haldorson briefly looked at Laurent's stack of 12,000 before eventually making the call.

The {8-Spades} on the river didn't excite either player as action checked through.

"Is one pair enough?" asked Laurent as he turned over the {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Haldorson held onto his cards for a lingering moment while he continued to stare at the board. He turned his cards over upon release showing the {j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.

FPN Players on Fire

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

While Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu may be superstars at the World Series of Poker, FPN has its own set of star players. Many of them tore it up in 2019 and are in Las Vegas looking for even more FPN success. Here's a look at some players worth keeping an eye on.

  • Overall National Points Leader Royle Merkel from ?Gastro Pub? out of Fargo, North Dakota killed it in the ?summer? quarter with ?four wins, accumulating 2,023 points! Merkel started playing FPN in 2009, has played over 100 tournaments, and finds the final table 70% of the time.
  • Josh Dahlstrom? from West Fargo, North Dakota recently took down a 700-player tournament for ?$20,000 cash!. You might remember Josh from the Main Event Mania championship weekend, where he took down one of the $10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event seats.
  • Rick Toth? from Chicago, Illinois is someone to keep your eye on. Toth was the league champ for two different locations this summer and three locations in the spring session.
  • Lookout from these? ladies ?from ?Illinois Wendy Adamczyk-Dandrea?, ?Nancy Pettiford?, and ?Kimberly Bandura? all had dominating performances in their leagues.
