Team China Doubles Up
As we said a few moments ago, it wasn't going to take much for Team China to get all in. There was a pre-flop raise by Brazil and then a re-raise by China. Brazil called, with China still retaining some chips as they went to a flop. David Chiu, playing for Team China, clearly did not like the flop. He called for a conference with team captain Johnny Chan regarding what to do. Given that at least three-quarters of Team China's stack was already in the middle, it seemed ludicrous to fold -- but China had clearly bricked the flop completely. Chiu and Chan talked things over and then Chiu got the rest of Chinia's chips in the middle.
Brazil called with , a rundown that had flopped top pair. That left China's in very, very bad shape. But the turn was an improbable to give Team China the lead in the hand. They took down the pot -- and a double-up -- with a river .
"See, I was right huh?" said Chan after the hand. "Now rush, rush!"
