All of the Day 1 starting flights have wrapped up and now it's time for players to return for Day 2a in the Caribbean Poker Party $5,300 Main Event. At the completion of the Day 1 flights, players were given the option to return for Day 2a or Day 2b. As such, a total of 465 players will be taking their seat at the felt for Day 2a.

Coming into the day, Barny Boatman will hold the chip lead with 5,715,000 chips. Boatman just played yesterday in Day 1c but opted to return just 12 hours later to continue his momentum today. A few other big stacks include Gianluca Speranza (4,720,000), Francois Billard (4,050,000), and Eric Afriat (4,005,000).

There are currently just shy of 1,000 entries thus far but late registration is open for the first four levels and dinner break on each of the Day 2s. For those players moving on from Day 1, they will have the option of re-entering twice today, whereas any new players will be allowed one re-entry. The re-entries are what the tournament staff is counting on as they are hoping to reach 2,000 total entries for the $10 million guaranteed prizepool.

The action is slated to begin at 12 p.m. local time at the Baha Mar Resort in the beautiful Bahamas. The blinds will begin at 10,000/20,000/ with a big blind ante of 20,000 on level nine. There are ten levels scheduled for play today with 60-minute levels and a 15-minute break at the end of every two levels. A 90-minute dinner break is currently scheduled for after the fourth level and late registration will close following that.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on site to bring you the partypoker specific tournament coverage throughout the day.
