After the end of level eight, nine players out of 14 entries bagged up chips in the most expensive event of the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Russia poker festival at the Casino Sochi and Resort, and that field is expected to grow when cards get back in the air at 1 p.m. local time for the Triton Poker Super High Roller.
The event comes with a buy-in of RUB6,000,000, which equals approximately $100,000, and such a price tag tends to attract some of the biggest names in poker. Leading the field into the final day is German High Roller regular Manig Loeser with 782,000, and he jumped to the top of the counts after eliminating Dietrich Fast in one of the last hands of the previous night. Timothy Adams is second in chips with 558,000 followed by none other than Phil Ivey, who bagged up 517,500.
Furthermore, Chin Wei Lim (378,000), Abraham Passet (337,000), Niall Farrell (316,000), Johannes Becker (276,000), Devan Tang (186,000) and Wai Leong Chan (158,500) will all be back in action for Day 2.
Triton Poker was founded by Malaysian businessmen Richard Yong and Paul Phua, who both made the trip over to Sochi after their successful festival at the Landing Casino in Jeju only a few days ago. Phua busted Yong on the way to finishing 5th in last night's RUB3,000,000 High Roller, and both are expected to possibly enter the tournament during the remaining three levels of late registration as of 1 p.m. local time.
Yong's son, two-time Triton champion Wai Kin Yong, may also take another shot at the event after he was eliminated on Day 1, and RUB3,000,000 Triton Poker High Roller champion Aymon Hata confirmed he will join the field.
All new entries will receive up to 50 big blinds, as Day 2 recommences with blinds of 2,500/5,000 and a button ante of 5,000. The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor to provide the action and the updates will be published according to the 30-minute security delay of the live stream with hole cards.
