Mathis Doubles Up

Level 30 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Jeremy Ausmus opened to 175,000 from under the gun and Martin Mathis pushed all in for 1,285,000 on the button. The action folded back to Ausmus who quickly made the call.

Martin Mathis: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Jeremy Ausmus: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Mathis was in need of some help and he found it on the {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop. The {2-Hearts} on the turn left Ausmus drawing to one out and the {q-Clubs} on the river was not it.

Fahredin Mustafov Eliminated in 12th Place ($45,000)

Level 29 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante
Fahredin Mustafov
Fahredin Mustafov

On a {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop Fahredin Mustafov checked out of the big blind and Frank Stepuchin bet 150,000 from the cutoff. Mustafov check-raised to 425,000 and Stepuchin called.

After using a time extension on the {6-Spades} turn Mustafov moved all in for around a million and Stepuchin snap-called.

Fahredin Mustafov: {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Frank Stepuchin: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Mustafov was drawing dead with top pair against the flopped set of his opponent, and the {q-Diamonds} made no difference as he was sent to the exit.

Level 29 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante

Chris Moneymaker opened to 150,000 from the cutoff and Ana Marquez three-bet shoved all in for 1,200,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Moneymaker asked for a count before making the call.

Ana Marquez: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Chris Moneymaker: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Marquez was in a dominating position heading to the flop of {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} which left her in the driver's seat. The {j-Diamonds} on the turn secured her the pot and the {a-Hearts} on the river was en exclamation point.

Sergi Reixach Eliminated in 13th Place ($45,000)

Level 29 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante
Sergi Reixach
Sergi Reixach

Sergi Reixach was on the right side of a cooler earlier in the day in order to double up, but this time the tides turned and he found himself on the wrong side of it. Chris Moneymaker raised to 150,000 in the hijack and was called by Sergio Aido on the button and Reixach in the big blind.

The flop fell {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Reixach checked to Moneymaker who continued with a bet of 325,000. Aido folded and Reixach check-raised to 900,000. Moneymaker called and the {7-Spades} landed on the turn. Reixach led out for 850,000 and Moneymaker announced all in. Reixach called off his stack of around 2,500,000 and found out the bad news.

Moneymaker flipped over {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for a set of queens and Reixach was drawing to just one out with {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a set of threes. The river was the {9-Clubs} and Reixach was eliminated in 13th place.

Deeb Shows Six-High

Level 29 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante

A board of {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} was spread across the felt and Freddy Deeb checked from the big blind. Frank Stepuchin tossed in a bet of 240,000 on the button and Deeb called.

The river was the {7-Clubs} and Deeb slid out a bet of 800,000. Stepuchin sent his cards to the muck and Deeb flashed {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} to show his six-high bluff. Deeb looked over his shoulder to make sure someone was watching as he wanted the rest of the world to know he's still got a bluff in him from time to time.

Mustafov Down, But Not Out

Level 29 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante

Frank Stepuchin opened to 150,000 from the cutoff and Freddy Deeb shipped all in for 2,285,000 in the small blind. Fahredin Mustafov asked for a count and then re-shoved all in from the big blind which got Stepuchin to fold.

Deeb turned over {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and was dominating Mustafov's {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} to give both players a pair, Deeb with the larger one. The {4-Diamonds} and {7-Diamonds} runout didn't help Mustafov as he sent a double up to Deeb.

Down to just 795,000 chips, Mustafov moved all in from the small blind when the action was folded to him in the next hand. Tom Marchese quickly called from the big blind and the cards were on their backs.

Mustafov was the one in a dominating position this time with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} against Marchese's {a-Spades}{4-Spades}. The flop of {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} gave Mustafov a commanding lead and the {6-Hearts} on the turn locked up the pot for him as he doubled up the very next hand.

Big Pots Brewing Early On

Level 29 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante

Fahredin Mustafov opened to 150,000 and Conor Beresford three-bet to 475,000. Mustafov used a time extension before four-betting to 1,150,000. Beresford didn't take as long and five-bet all in for around four million. Mustafov checked his cards and folded.

A short while later, Rainer Kempe opened to 145,000 and called a three-bet from chip leader Frank Stepuchin to 325,000.

The flop was {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Kempe check-called 280,000. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and Kempe checked and called a bet this time of 740,000.

The river was the {j-Diamonds} and both players checked. Kempe showed {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a full house and Stepuchin mucked.

Cooler Hand Sends a Double Up to Reixach

Level 29 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante
Sergi Reixach
Sergi Reixach

With around 600,000 in the middle and the board reading {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, Ana Marquez and Sergi Reixach were heads-up in the hand. Marquez checked from the big blind and Reixach fired out a bet of 350,000 in the cutoff. Marquez shoved all in and Reixach instantly called off his stack of 1,620,000.

Sergi Reixach: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Ana Marquez: {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Marquez turned two pair but Reixach flopped a set of fives. The {10-Clubs} on the river changed nothing and Reixach found an early double up to keep himself alive.
