Day 1c of the of the €300,000 guaranteed partypoker Grand Prix Killarney €340 Main Event at at Ireland’s National Event Centre (INEC) and Gleneagle Hotel was fast and furious with blind levels reduced from the 40 minutes that were featured during the first two opening days to 25 minutes. The day was a success with 128 entrants joining the field to create a field size of 784 entrants with still one more turbo opening day to take place tomorrow at 10 a.m. local time.

A total of 44 players bagged chips from the Day 1c field making it a total of 217 entrants have bagged chips during all of the opening days so far. However, this might be reduced slightly for any player that survived multiple opening days.

Sean Byrne managed to have the best day out of all the players in the Day 1c field after bagging 203,800. For awhile it appeared Sean Lai was going to run away with things after he amassed a huge stack of more than 200,000 while blinds were only 200/400 and with an ante of 50. However, Lai gave a good amount of his stack back but still managed to bag 72,900.

Other players on top of the Day 1c field included John Conroy (second - 197,000), Remus Matache (third - 188,300), Glen Garaway (fourth - 166,000) and Ralph Kenneth (fifth - 131,600).

However, Byrne will enter Day 2 chasing a few other players including the currently over chip leader Cormac Hutton who bagged 263,400 in chips on Day 1b earlier today.

Among the players unable to bag chips included partypoker Project Manager Charlie Goodwin.

The final opening day of the Main Event, the turbo Day 1d, will kick off at 10 a.m. local time tomorrow. As soon as that ends, Day 2 will begin at 2:30 p.m. local time. The PokerNews live reporting team will be back on the floor to provide a recap of the final opening day along with full coverage of Day 2.
