The tournament is scheduled to bag up for the night when the money bubble bursts and play down to a winner over on the live stream table as of lunch time the next day. It was the fifth event of the festival with a seven-figure guarantee and it proved to be no issue at all to cover the €2,000,000.
In the €1,100 Open Event the bubble burst mid-way through Day 2 and once that was taken care of, the casualties kept on coming frequently. Eventually, there were only 87 players remaining out of a field of 1,716 and Christophe de Meulder topped the counts with 52.575 million in chips. Timur Margolin, who will be freerolling in the €10,300 Main Event thanks to a last longer competition of the partypoker online qualifiers in the last WSOP Circuit Main Event at the King's Casino after finishing 2nd, continued his run good here in Barcelona as well after bagging up 45.875 million.
Other big stacks and notables still in contention for the €250,000 top prize include Marius Pertea (45 million), Will Givens (35.275 million), partypoker sponsored pro Roberto Romanello (31.6 million), MILLIONS Russia $10,300 High Roller champion and Main Event runner up David Laka (30.5 million), Micky Blasi (30 million) and Anthony Spinella (26.45 million). While the tournament is scheduled as a 3-day event, with such a massive field and 87 hopefuls remaining, an additional tournament day may be required.
Last but not least, there's also excellent news from the €2,700 Warm Up. Day 1A has wrapped up with 92 players out of 304 entries remaining and an additional 445 entries for Day 1B boosted the field size to 749 entries in total. The guaranteed prize pool was almost doubled and stands at €1,816,325, the payouts are expected to be announced before the start of Day 2.
