Once again, it's Sunday and another big day on partypoker. After a hiatus last week, the feature game The Grand is back on the schedule this week. The $1,050 buy-in game with $200,000 in guaranteed prizes is the marquee game this Sunday, but there is other action on the go as well.
The Grand gets underway just after noon eastern time (6:05p.m. CEST), and with a couple hours to go before start, there are already almost 50 players in the mix. Day 1 phases are still underway for The Grand, and while players can buy 1,000,000 chips for $1,050 to start Day 2, they can also bring a bigger stack into Day 2 by playing an earlier phase. Currently the leader on Day 2 is Sihao Zhang with more than 2.6 million chips. Ukraine's Oleg Vasylchenko is second with 2.4 million, and the only other player with more than 2 million so far.
An hour later at 7:05p.m. CEST (1:05p.m. eastern) The Sunday 500 gets underway with $100,000 guaranteed for $530. Players get 500,000 chips for their buy-in the bounty game. There is still a lot of time left to get in the game, but there are a few players already waiting for the first cards to be dealt.
The final feature event this weekend is the The Weekender Final Day. For $109, players in The Weekender get a shot at Day 2 prizes of at least $100,000. There are still two Day 1 flights yet to run to set the final field, but 55 players have already qualified for the Final Day. The Weekender Final Day gets underway at 2:05p.m. eastern, or 8:05p.m. CEST, with 15 minute blind levels. Top stack going into the Final Day is "Sr Pichaco" with just over 2.4 million chips and almost $300 in bounties through their Day 1 play.
Blinds in The Grand are also 15 minutes, while The Sunday 500 blinds change every 12 minutes.
